We all know children have lots of energy to burn off over the weekend, so a great way to help parents with this is to create gross motor activities. Not only are these fun but they will help develop gross motor skills.
A very simple thing to do is set up a balance beam. Children will learn a valuable physical skill which will prepare them for other balancing activities like riding a bike. Don't forget to include your child in the creation of their balance beam, they can be very creative, as we know in Stretch-n-Grow.
It doesn't have to cost a lot, just get some wood and lay it out on the grass. Walk along it and you are walking the plank like all good pirates. Add a few pieces together and make some angles or corners and you have a maze.
Have fun and enjoy the weekend!
